LYNDONVILLE, Vt. - Sophomore Stacy
DiSabato (Manchester, N.H./Central) scored three goals
Tuesday afternoon to lead the Plymouth State University women's
soccer team to a 5-1 victory over Lyndon State College in
non-conference action.
The Panthers took a 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the game
when a LSC midfielder inadvertently kicked the ball into her own
net. Less than 12 minutes later, DiSabato tallied her first goal to
up the PSU lead to 2-0. Sophomore Gianna Minervini
(Point Pleasant, N.J.) assisted on the play.
The Hornets cut the deficit to 2-1 on Shauna Buck's goal, assisted
by Kathy Kline, with 7:25 to play before intermission, but the
Panthers blew the game open midway through the second half with
three unanswered goals.
Minervini scored off a pass from sophomore Lauren
Lavery (Nashua, N.H.) at 68:55. DiSabato extended
the Plymouth State advantage to 4-1 with a tally at 74:24, with an
assist from senior Jaimee Coombs (Peabody, Mass.).
DiSabato closed out her hat trick with 16:08 left to play, off a
feed from freshman Amanda Bogdanowicz (Norwalk,
Conn.) to send the Panthers on to their seventh win of the season.
PSU goalies Ashley Riberdy (Manchester,
N.H./Memorial) and freshman Jill Collins
(Meredith, N.H.) combined to make four saves in the contest while
LSC keeper Kari Johnson had seven stops.
