On the evening of October 26, 1985, Plymouth State College held its first Athletic Hall of Fame induction banquet. Five of the school's most influential sports personalities were honored by a special committee with selection as charter members to the Hall of Fame. The inaugural banquet was a resounding success, and subsequently the Hall of Fame banquet became an annual highlight of the Plymouth State sports calendar. After the induction of the Class of 2019, the Hall of Fame Committee made the decision to change the induction to occur in even-numbered years. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no class was selected for 2020.
