PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Senior
Semir Mehmedovic (Concord, N.H.) and freshman
Dimitrios Kapotis (Woodsville, N.H.) each scored
three goals and one assist Sunday afternoon to lead Plymouth State
University to a 9-0 victory over Green Mountain College in a
non-conference men's soccer match at Panther Field.
The Panthers scored three times in the first 10 minutes of the
match and never looked back. It was 7-0 by halftime, and the
home team cruised home to the win in the second half. PSU finished
with a 33-2 advantage in shots.
PSU snapped its three-game losing skid and improved to 2-3-0
overall, while Green Mountain remains winless in seven games on the
season.
Sophomores Tommy Schrey (Munich, Germany) and
Greg Blanchette (Bow, N.H.) and senior Pat
Connolly (Newton, N.H.) also collected goals for the
Panthers. Sophomore Alex Ciccolinifoley
(York, Maine) finished with three assists and freshman Alex
Martins (Pawcatuck, Conn.) assisted on two goals.
GMC freshman keeper Ryder Ritchie (Gloucester, Mass.) had a busy
day in goal and finished with 17 saves.
PSU opens Little East Conference action next Saturday with a 1:00
p.m. contest at Eastern Connecticut State University. Green
Mountain is back in action on Thursday with a visit to Bard College
for a 7:00 p.m. kick-off.
