PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Junior Amanda Kania (Manchester, N.H./West) posted a double-double with a game-high 26 points and 11 rebounds Tuesday evening as Plymouth State University defeated Castleton State College, 67-43, in non-conference women's basketball at Foley Gymnasium.

PSU remained undefeated (4-0) on the young season, while Castleton had its record evened at 2-2.

Kania made three three-pointers in the first minute and a half of the game as PSU took a 9-0 lead.  She made 5-of-7 from three-point range in the first half and finished with 19 points as the Panthers built a 37-21 margin at the break.  Kania finished 8-of-13 shooting overall in the game, 5-of-8 from long range.

Senior Laura Kent (Bellingham, Mass.) also contributed 11 points for the Panthers, and sophomore Alicia Doucet (Manchester, N.H./Central) and seniors Kalie Judd (Peabody, Mass.) and Gretchen Fritch (South Boston, Mass.) tallied seven points apiece.

Freshman Tarryn Bolognani (Whittingham, Vt.) led the visitors with 16 points, converting 9-of-11 from the free throw line.  She was the only Spartan to reach double figures in scoring as junior Megan Johnson (Rutland, Vt.) contributed nine points and a team-high eight rebounds.

PSU actually led 11-0 before the Spartans got on the board.  The Panthers maintained a double-digit lead throughout the first half and took a 37-21 advantage into the locker room.  Castleton got to within 12 points early in the second half (37-25), but PSU went on a 12-4 run to get the lead up to 20 points, and the Panthers coasted home the rest of the way.

Both teams are back in action with in-state contests next Tuesday, Dec. 1, as PSU visits Colby-Sawyer College (7:00 p.m.) and Castleton travels to Middlebury College (5:30 p.m.)
