Box Score

Late goals lift Panthers; Schmidt earns shutout with 10 saves

HENNIKER, N.H. – The Plymouth State University women's soccer notched two goals in the final 10 minutes of play Wednesday evening, topping the New England College Pilgrims 2-0 in non-conference action.

With the win the Panthers even their record at 6-6-0 overall, while the loss drops the Pilgrims to 8-9-1 on the season. Plymouth State junior keeper Annaliese Schmidt (Newmarket, N.H.) notched an impressive 10 saves in the shutout victory.

Plymouth State would break an 81-minute scoring drought as senior Emily Bell (Derry, N.H.) received a feed up the field from junior Cassie Lacroix (Candia, N.H./Central) and took it in for her third goal of the season at the 81:58 mark.  The Panthers would get an insurance tally in the 88th minute as sophomore Sophie Brisere (Stockholm, Sweden) converted a free-kick, shooting just out of the reach of NEC keeper Kayla Pugliese.

New England College will travel to take on in-state conference rival Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday. Plymouth State will hit the field again on Saturday when they host Little East Conference foe UMass Dartmouth at 1:00 p.m. at Arold Field.
