LYNDONVILLE, Vt. – Freshman
Adam Stelljes (Scituate, Mass.) scored twice to lift Plymouth State University to a dominant 3-1 win over NVU-Lyndon in a non-conference men's soccer game at Varsity Athletic Field on Tuesday afternoon.
After the Hornets scored in the opening minutes, Stelljes was fed a well-placed corner kick into the box where his initial shot was blocked, but he returned it immediately from just outside the box to tie the game.
In the second half, Stelljes struck again as he received a ball on a breakaway and sped by the defense before smashed another goal to the net to take the lead, 2-1.
Junior
Faisal Abdallah (Concord, N.H.) gave the Panthers some insurance in the 79th minute after drilling the rebound off a saved penalty kick for the final score.
