WENHAM, Mass. – Plymouth State University had its three-game winning streak snapped as Gordon College earned a 3-0 win over the Panthers in a non-conference women's soccer match at Brigham Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.
Gordon scored the lone tally of the first half as the teams battled back-and-forth to open the game. The Fighting Scots were able to pull away in the second half, though, as PSU was unable to solve the home goalkeeper.
Plymouth State drops its first contest of the season, slipping to 3-1-0, while Gordon improves to 3-1-0.

How it Happened:
- Plymouth State seemed to hold a slight edge throughout the first half, although statistically the opening 45 minutes were incredibly even.
- The hosts were able to get on the board in the 12th minute.
- Each team fired three shots and earned two corner kicks in the first half.
- Gordon was able to extend the lead in the 56th minute on a header off a corner kick.
- The Fighting Scots added an insurance tally in the 64th minute and PSU was unable to break through.

- Gordon held an 11-7 edge in shots, but just a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal.
- The hosts finished with six corner kicks to PSU's two.
- The matchup was the first between the two teams since the 2014 season.
- Graduate student Elena Register (Helena, Ala.) made a pair of saves for the Panthers.
- Senior McKayla Palhof (Loudon, N.H.) led the team with two shots.
