PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Keene State College used four second-half goals to surge past Plymouth State University, 5-0, in a Little East Conference (LEC) men's soccer game at Arold Field on Wednesday afternoon.
For the second straight contest the Panthers battled through the opening 45 minutes and trailed by just one at the half. The Owls extended the lead early in the second half before pulling away late with a pair of goals in the final nine minutes.
Plymouth State slips to 4-3-1 (1-2-0 LEC), while the Owls improve to 3-5-1 and 1-1-0 in the league.

How it Happened:
- The Panthers had a pair of prime scoring chances less than two minutes into play, but a blast from inside the box on the right side by junior Faisal Abdallah (Concord, N.H.) went off the nearside post and a follow up shot by sophomore Sondre Asheim (Klepp, Norway) sailed just high.
- Sophomore August Westerholm (Stockholm, Sweden) had a chance in the 20th minute after cutting through traffic but his shot deflected off an Owls' defender.
- Keene State got on the board in the 22nd minute and the one-goal lead would hold into halftime.
- The visitors doubled the lead in the 54th minute before extending the margin eight minutes later.
- PSU tried to mount a comeback amid a flurry of shots in a four minute span, but the Owls defense would not break and the visitors closed out the win with a pair of late tallies to account for the final score.
By the Numbers:
- The Panthers doubled up KSC in shots, 30-15, and held an 11-8 advantage in shots on goal.
- PSU earned 14 corner kicks while surrendering just two.
- Junior Nicolas Cornejo (Durham, N.H.) made three saves in the setback.
- Keene State has won five of the last six meetings.
- The teams were playing in Plymouth for the first time since the 2016 season.
