WBB: Cook’s double-double pushes Panthers past NVU-Lyndon

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. – The Plymouth State University women's basketball team defeated the Northern Vermont University at Lyndon Hornets, 65-47, in a non-conference game at Stannard Gymnasium Tuesday evening.
 
The much-needed win snapped the Panthers' eight-game losing streak. Plymouth State will look to use the momentum over the second half of conference play to keep its playoff hopes alive.
 
Senior Jalen Cook (Monkton, Vt.) led the way with 12 points and 13 rebounds, while freshman Sophie George (Meredith, N.H.) led all scorers with 17 points of her own. Sophomore Raven Premont (Barre, Vt.) rounded out the Plymouth State scoring with 12 points in the winning effort.
 
Plymouth State improves to 5-10 on the season, while the Hornets fall to 7-8.
