PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University men's soccer team defeated the Curry College Colonels, 3-2, in a non-conference matchup on Arold Field Tuesday afternoon.
The Panthers took an early lead on a goal scored directly from a corner by senior
Sondre Asheim (Klepp, Norway) 53 seconds into the match. Plymouth State doubled its lead (2-0) off another corner served in by Asheim that found the head of junior
Walter Driscoll (Kittery Point, Maine) just before halftime.
A second half flurry gave the Colonels a chance at earning a point, as the team stormed back, finishing goals 30 seconds apart in the 68th minute to tie the game at two. It took until the 76th minute for freshman
Vince Cassarino (Tolland, Conn.) to comfortably tuck home the game winner and give the Panthers the victory.
Freshman
Kole Matta (Castleton, Vt.) recorded four saves in his second win in as many starts for the team.
