BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman
Rose Karow (South Yarmouth, Mass.) paced the Plymouth State University women's cross country team to a ninth-place finish at the Suffolk Short Course Classic at Frankin Park, hosted by Suffolk University, on Friday afternoon.
Karow made her collegiate debut in style as she was the first finisher for the Panthers in the women's 3k race with an impressive time of 12:05.40. Karow placed 24th overall in a field of 147 runners, which included competitors for all three NCAA Divisions, including Division I Northeastern and UConn, which are ranked fifth and seventh in the Northeast Region, respectively.
The Panthers finished ninth out of 15 teams, and sixth among fellow Division III institutions.

How it Happened:
- Karow led the Panthers in stride, placing 24th overall in a time of 12:05.40.
- Senior Emily Philbrook (Penacook, N.H.) snagged a spot among the top-40 in a time of 12:23.80.
- The duo of seniors Lexi Marcolini (Milford, Mass.) and Erika Boone (Canton, Mass.) finished with times of 13:16.60 and 13:29.30, respectively.
- Freshman Abby Bergeron (Essex Jct., Vt.) closed out the Panthers' top five with a time of 14:13.10.

- The Panthers are off next weekend, before heading to the UMass Dartmouth Invitational at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course on Saturday (Sept. 16) with the women's 5k starting at noon.
