MILTON, Mass. – The Plymouth State University men's soccer team fell to the Curry College Colonels, 4-3, in non-conference men's soccer action on Walter M. Katz Field Tuesday afternoon.
In a match that produced six first half goals, Plymouth State found itself down 4-2 at the midway break. Senior
Faisal Abdallah (Accra, Ghana) opened the scoring for the Panthers, while junior
Nils Skogestig (Saltsjo Boo, Sweden) put home Plymouth State's second goal, assisted by senior
David Nilsson (Karlstad, Sweden).
Freshman
Rowan McCarthy (Pepperell, Mass.) buried a header off a corner kick from senior
Sondre Asheim (Klepp, Norway) in the second half to bring the match to 4-3, but the Colonels managed to cling onto the victory as the Panthers forced five saves from the Curry goalkeeper in the final 20 minutes of action.
Plymouth State moves to 4-6-2, while the Colonels improve to 6-7-1.

How it Happened:
- The Panthers struck first in the ninth minute of action as Abdallah produced a great individual effort to put Plymouth State in front 1-0.
- Curry responded in the 22nd minute to even things up at 1-1.
- Plymouth State wasted no time getting back in front and a deep, far post cross found Skogestig alone in the box who comfortably tucked home his second touch putting the Panthers up 2-1 in the 25th minute.
- Exactly 60 seconds later, in the 26th minute, the Colonels tied the game at 2-2 on a ball played back across goal that was ripped past the diving goalkeeper.
- Feeling some late first half momentum, Curry gained its first lead of the match in the 34th minute on a headed ball off a corner kick to go ahead 3-2; followed up with a side volley finish in the 36th minute to give the Colonels a 4-2 advantage, where the score would stand at half time.
- The Panthers were next up to tally the seventh goal of the match on a header goal off a corner by McCarthy in the 68th minute to close the gap to 4-3 with 20 minutes left to play.
- Plymouth State applied heavy pressure in the final minutes in an attempt to bring the match back level, outshooting its opponent 11-7 in the second half, but fell just short as the final whistle blew.
