PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Just four days after being named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Offensive Lineman of the Year, senior
Sean Quinn (Norwood, Mass.) added to his postseason resume as the New England Football Writers Association announced its Division II/III All-New England Team on Monday.
Quinn was one of six senior offensive linemen to earn All-New England honors. Last Thursday he collected All-MASCAC First Team recognition in addition to his Lineman of the Year award. He is one of 23 Division III student-athletes selected, and one of just two representatives from MASCAC programs. The team also features 10 players from Division II institutions.
Selections were made by a committee of media relations representatives from the five New England football conferences – MASCAC, NEWMAC, CNE, NESCAC, and the Division II Northeast-10.
Honorees will be recognized at the New England Football Writers Captains and Awards Banquet at 6 p.m. on Dec. 11 at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel and Conference Center. Reservations, which must be made online no later than Dec. 5 at 4 p.m., are $75 per person and are non-refundable.
Quinn anchored Plymouth State's offensive line, helping the Panthers rush for more than 2,100 yards and score 332 points – both the second-highest totals in the league. The line also allowed the second-fewest sacks and tackles for loss in the MASCAC.
Plymouth State finished 8-2 (7-2 MASCAC), earning a share of the regular-season title in a three-way tie – the program's second since joining the league in 2013.
