WBB: Panthers fall to USM despite Malozzi’s game-high

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University women's basketball team fell to the University of Southern Maine Huskies, 67-43, in a Little East Conference (LEC) clash in Foley Gymnasium on Wednesday evening.

It was a slow start for the Panthers, as Southern Maine jumped out to a sizable lead. The Panthers found their offensive groove in the second half, but the deficit was too large to overcome.

Junior Hailey Malozzi (Maynard, Mass.) continued to make a strong argument for an all-conference bid, leading all scorers with 19 points and adding eight rebounds. Classmate Elli Cox (Deerfield, N.H.) led all players with nine boards.

Sophomore Ashley Stephens (Pembroke, N.H.) registered four blocks in the evening, two shy of a Plymouth State's single game record which has stood for 40 years.
