PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Six Plymouth State University varsity athletic teams were honored on Wednesday as the Little East Conference (LEC) announced its 2024-25 Team Academic Award winners.
The LEC Team Academic Award is presented to the team with the highest grade point average in the current academic year among each of the league's 21 championship sport offerings.
The Plymouth State men's lacrosse, men's outdoor track & field, women's indoor and outdoor track & field, and women's swimming teams claimed the honors, while the men's basketball team tied for the top mark in the LEC. PSU's six recipients were tied with VTSU Castleton for the most in the conference.
Additionally, the men's indoor track & field (0.01), women's lacrosse (0.03), women's cross country (0.06), women's basketball (0.07), and women's volleyball (0.08) teams were just behind the conference leaders in their respective sports.
