PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior
Sofia Orama (Marlborough, Conn.) was named Plymouth State University's representative on the Little East Conference (LEC) Women's Tennis Sportsmanship Team, as the league announced its postseason awards on Thursday.
The LEC Sportsmanship Team recognizes one player from each member institution for their integrity, respect for opponents, and leadership both on and off the court.
A co-captain, Orama posted a 4-6 record while playing exclusively at No. 3 singles before an injury cut her season short in the penultimate match of the regular season. She recorded seven doubles wins, tied for the second-most on the team.
Plymouth State finished the season with an 8-6 record, its most wins since the 2021-22 season. The Panthers went 4-4 in LEC play to earn the No. 5 seed in the LEC Tournament before falling to No. 4 seed University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in the first round.
