PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Freshman Bryant Amaral (Coventry, R.I.) was named the Little East Conference (LEC) Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday, as the league announced its weekly award winners.
 
Amaral earned the honor after posting his second clean sheet of the season in his only appearance last week.
 
Amaral made three saves in the opening half and four overall to lead Plymouth State past Vermont State University Castleton, 2-0, on Saturday. He has posted a 1.20 goals-against average and .846 save percentage over five starts this season. He leads the league with 6.60 saves per game and is tied for second with two shutouts, while his GAA ranks third.
 
Plymouth State (4-4-0, 1-2-0 LEC) hosts the University of New England at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 30).
