WESTFIELD, Mass. – Three Plymouth State University football players were among those recognized when the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) announced its weekly award winners on Tuesday.
 
Sophomore running back Jayden Graham (Rutland, Vt.), senior linebacker Tyler Holcomb (Coventry, Conn.) and junior kicker Seamus Ross (Windham, N.H.) were all named to the MASCAC Football Weekly Honor Roll for their performances in Plymouth State's 28-14 win over New England College in the season opener last Saturday.
 
Graham ran for 109 yards and a touchdown in the win, logging four carries on the opening drive. He capped the drive with a 12-yard TD burst as Plymouth State took an early lead and never looked back.
 
Holcomb registered a team-high eight tackles, including 1.5 for a loss, and added an interception to lead the defense. Four of his tackles came in the second quarter, and his interception on NEC's opening drive of the second half set up the Panthers' fourth touchdown of the day.
 
Ross went a perfect 4-for-4 on PATs and had a 61-yard kickoff in the victory.
 
Plymouth State carried a 28-0 lead into the fourth quarter before the Pilgrims added a pair of late scores.
 
The Panthers travel to Worcester State University for the MASCAC opener on Saturday (Sept. 12). Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
