Micah Dion joined the Plymouth State University Sports Medicine team as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the 2020-21 academic year. He was promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer prior to the 2022-23 season.
 
Dion earned a B.S. in Athletic Training from Plymouth State in 2015. He spent 2016 at California University of Pennsylvania as a Graduate Assistant while completing his M.S. in Athletic Training, where he worked with the NCAA Division II football program, as well as the ice hockey and rugby clubs. During that time he also filled the role of Head Athletic Trainer for the Avella Area School District.
 
Prior to coming to Plymouth State, Dion filled the role of Assistant Athletic Trainer at Mount Holyoke College from 2016-20. At Mt. Holyoke, he provided sports medicine care for 13 different sports while also serving as a preceptor for Springfield College and Westfield State University athletic training students.
 
Dion currently provides athletic training services for the football and track & field programs. 
 
As an undergraduate at PSU, Dion was President of the Athletic Training Club, coordinator for student attendance at professional conferences and a volunteer for Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness.
 
A member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) and Eastern Athletic Trainers Association (EATA), Dion was honored as the recipient of the Outstanding Senior Athletic Trainer Award and Clinical Service Award at Plymouth State. He has additional certifications and formal training from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Myofascial Cupping Therapy, Blood Flow Restriction Therapy and Performance Enhancement Specialization.
