Curtis Arsenault was named head coach of the women's basketball team in April 2023 after serving as an assistant for both the men's and women's programs.
 
Arsenault made an immediate impact, leading the Panthers to their most wins in 14 years and their best conference record since 2002-03 during his first season. Despite losing the reigning LEC Rookie of the Year to a season-ending injury in just the fourth game, PSU finished with a strong conference mark and returned to the LEC Tournament.
 
In 2025-26, Arsenault led the Panthers to double-digit wins for the second time in three years. The team won seven of its first eight games and topped WestConn in overtime to enter winter recess with an 8-2 record, the program’s best start in 15 years. PSU completed the season sweep with a 10-point win over the Wolves in late January before defeating UMass Dartmouth, 84-54, a week later. The team’s 84 points were the most in a regulation game since the 2017-18 season.
 
During his first season, Arsenault led the Panthers to conference wins over WestConn, VTSU Castleton, Keene State and Eastern Connecticut while sweeping the season series against UMass Boston and WestConn to return to the LEC Tournament.
 
In 2024-25, Arsenault led the Panthers past Thomas College in the consolation game of the Gene DeLorenzo Tip-Off Tournament at Colby College to open the season. Lea Crompton ‘24G reached the 1,000-career-point threshold, while Bri Wilcox ‘25 became the team’s first All-LEC selection in five seasons.
 
Arsenault, a key contributor to the men's program from 2013-17, spent two seasons as an assistant men's basketball coach and served in the same role for the women's program from 2017-19. He helped lead the men to a 15-12 record and a semifinal appearance in the LEC Tournament during the 2021-22 season, including a late-season six-game winning streak highlighted by a one-point win over No. 25 UMass Dartmouth. He also filled in as head coach during a weeklong stretch that included a 93-82 win over Rhode Island College.
 
Prior to that, Arsenault aided the women's team during its most successful campaign in nearly a decade in 2018-19, when PSU won 10 games for the first time since 2009-10. He also spent two seasons as an assistant for the Laconia High School boys' team from 2019-21.
 
A standout player from the Panthers from 2013-17, Arsenault finished his career with 1,236 points, ranking 10th on the Panthers’ all-time scoring list. He played a key role in PSU’s upset win over No. 22 Eastern Connecticut in January 2015 that snapped the Warriors’ 27-game LEC regular-season winning streak.
