Barbara Rawlsky-Willett enters her 18th season as head coach of the Plymouth State women’s tennis team in 2021-22, the longest-serving coach in the program's 53-year history. The Panthers have been solid LEC contenders under Rawlsky-Willett, winning LEC Tournament titles in 2004, 2006 and 2014, and the regular season crown in 2005 and 2014.

PSU has enjoyed an impressive run of late with a school record three-straight ten-win seasons (2017-2019), ending only due to a limited COVID-shortened 2020 season. The Panthers have gone 39-17 over the last four seasons, which included appearances in the championship match of the 2018 and 2020 LEC Tournaments.

The 2018 team posted a 12-3 overall record, totaling the second-most wins in program history. PSU went 8-1 in conference play to match the 2014 squad for the most LEC wins in a year.

Rawlsky-Willett piloted the Panthers to their best season in 2014. PSU went undefeated during the fall season (14-0), a run that included the LEC regular season (8-0) and tournament titles, and finished with a 14-1 overall record after being defeated in the 2015 NCAA Division III National Championship tournament. Rawlsky-Willett was named LEC Coach of the Year after coaching both the LEC Player and Rookie of the Year and five All-Conference selections.

Rawlsky-Willett, who took over at PSU in 2004 after one season as an assistant, was also the girls’ tennis coach at Plymouth Regional High School (PRHS) for 29 years until her retirement in 2012. She was inducted into the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA) Coaches Hall of Fame in 2010.

Rawlsky-Willett led the Panthers to the first LEC Championship in the program’s history in 2004. The Panthers finished runner-up at the LEC Tournament a year later, and came back in 2006 with its second LEC Tournament title in three years. PSU made its first NCAA Tournament appearance in the spring of 2007.

PSU has had numerous players earn post-season honors while playing under Rawlsky-Willett, including All-Conference selections, the LEC Rookie of the Year in 2009, 2014 and 2017, and the LEC Player of the Year in 2014 and 2015. In addition, several Panther tennis players received major PSU student-athlete awards in recent years for academic success, community service and leadership.

A graduate of the College of St. Catherine (Minn.) where she played No. 1 singles for four years, Rawlsky-Willett was a pioneer in girls' high school sports. She competed in Girl's Athletic Association field hockey, volleyball, basketball, softball and track & field at Beaver Dam (Wis.) High School from 1966-70. During her time at Beaver Dam she was also a varsity cheerleader, homecoming queen, senior honor roll student and member of the band, chorus and orchestra, all before Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 was passed into law. She was inducted into the Beaver Dam High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2018.

Rawlsky-Willett accumulated a record of 235-125 as the girls' tennis coach at PRHS while guiding a doubles team to the state championship in 1989. She also led the Bobcats to undefeated seasons (16-0) and runner-up finishes in the state team tournament in 1993 and 1999.

Rawlsky-Willett remains an avid tennis player today. Competing at the 4.0 level of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), she qualified for the USTA League National Championships in 2020.

Rawlsky-Willett and her husband Doug have two adult children.
