Kathy Peverly took over the Plymouth State women's tennis program as head coach starting in June 2022. In each of her three seasons atop the program she has guided the team to six wins and three-straight appearances in the LEC Tournament.

Last fall, the Panthers went an even 6-6 overall and posted a 4-4 record in LEC play for the third consecutive season. PSU closed out the regular season with a 5-4 win over Salem State, using a straight sets win at No. 6 singles to secure the victory. Peverly's squad finished in a three-way tie for fourth in the final standings and was awarded the #4 seed for the LEC Tournament. The two teams would meet again in the first round, with PSU earning a 5-2 win to advance to the semifinals for the first time under Peverly's direction. The Panthers fell to top-seeded UMass Boston, which would go on to win its third straight title.

Plymouth State went 6-7 overall (4-4 LEC) in 2023 to earn the fifth seed for the LEC Tournament. The Panthers fell to fourth-seeded UMass Dartmouth, 5-0, though Plymouth State was leading a pair of remaining singles matches and No. 2 doubles came up just short in an 8-6 decision. It was PSU’s tenth-straight postseason appearance.

The Panthers rolled past Salem State, 7-2, in Peverly’s first game as head coach in 2022-23. PSU picked up a pair of conference wins at the end of the regular season, 7-2 over WestConn and 6-3 over VTSU Castleton, to lock up the fifth seed. Plymouth State was again paired with UMass Dartmouth in the opening round of the LEC Tournament, falling by a narrow 5-3 margin. The Panthers led 2-1 at the conclusion of doubles play and held a 3-2 advantage after the first two singles matches ended, but the Corsairs pulled even with a win at No. 6 singles and squeaked out two highly competitive, three-set matches at No. 4 and No. 5 to secure the win.

Peverly has been around the sport of tennis since her childhood, spending time as head coach at a pair of nearby high schools - Moultonborough Academy and Inter-Lakes High School - while remaining an active player herself.

Peverly served as girls' varsity tennis coach at Inter-Lakes from 2007-12, earning the first banner for the program after finishing as runner-up in the 2008 NHIAA Tournament for Class M-S. The Lakers came up just short in the finals, falling to Derryfield by a narrow, 5-4 margin.

Prior to her stint at ILHS, Peverly spent three years leading the Moultonborough Academy girls' program as head varsity coach from 2004-06.

Peverly has served as a club representative to the U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) and New Hampshire Women's Interclub Tennis League (NHWITL) since 2004, more than doubling participation in indoor women's tennis and introducing and mentoring countless players to the USTA/NHWITL competitive travel tennis league during that time. She also spent 11 years as a captain at the 3.0 and 3.5 USTA ratings, advancing to districts and sectionals.

Peverly has a decade of experience assisting the local tennis pro in both Meredith and Gilford and within local club youth tennis programs. She spent five years as the Tennis Instructor with the Meredith Parks & Recreation Department, working with both youth and adults, and served as the Director of the Rockbottom Annual Invitational Tennis Tournament from 2007-19.

Peverly has held a seat on the board of Advantage Kids, a non-profit with a mission to introduce New Hampshire youth to the benefits of tennis and yoga, since 2019, and has spent two years as a tennis volunteer with the non-profit group ACEing Autism, a program for children with autism to grow, develop and benefit from the social connections and fitness through affordable tennis programming.

Additionally, Peverly has been the Social Tennis Mixed Doubles Coordinator at Gilford Hills Tennis and Fitness Club for 20 years.

Peverly also works for PSU's Office of Residential Life as the Housing Coordinator.
