Becky Dale was introduced as the head coach of the women's lacrosse team in July 2022 and has brought the team to the NCAA Tournament in each of her first three seasons at the helm.

Dale led the Panthers to a historical season last spring, culminating in a third-straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the program's third win in the national tournament. PSU went a perfect 8-0 in league play to capture a 12th LEC regular season crown. Although the team was upset in the championship game of the LEC Tournament, the Panthers were awarded an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament - a first for both the program and LEC women's lacrosse. Dale guided the Panthers over Marymount (Va.), 20-16, in the opening round before falling to #8 York in a second round game.

Dale's squad finished with a 16-4 overall record, coming just one win shy of the program best mark (17-1) set in 2004. Naturally, the postseason honors rolled in for members of the record-breaking squad. Seven Panthers earned All-LEC honors, highlighted by Julia Donovan '25 and Megan Gaspa '24 '25G, who repeated as LEC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year. The duo, along with Jenna Stowell '25, earned IWLCA All-Region selections, and appear throughout the program record books. Donovan became the second player in school history to surpass 200 career goals and ranks third with 296 career points, Stowell owns records for draw controls in a game, season, and career despite playing just three years at PSU, and Gaspa ranks among the top-ten in career ground balls, draw controls, and caused turnovers. Additionally, Stowell and Gaspa also claimed Honorable Mention All-American status by USA Lacrosse Magazine.

After starting LEC play with an 0-2 record, Dale’s 2024 squad regrouped to rip off five-straight conference victories as part of a nine-game winning streak, outscoring opponents by a 164-55 margin over the stretch. The Panthers entered the LEC Tournament as the fourth seed, knocking off top-seeded WestConn in the semifinals – a rematch of the last three conference title games – before taking an early lead to coast past Keene State for the program’s tenth LEC Tournament championship.

Donovan and Gaspa were named the LEC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year. Donovan, who also earned IWLCA All-Region honors, surpassed the 200-point threshold for her career, while Stowell also claimed All-Region recognition.

Dale opened her career as a head coach with three straight victories in 2023. The Panthers finished the regular season with a 10-6 record, with four losses coming to NESCAC programs, including three nationally-ranked teams. The difficult non-conference slate helped PSU to go 6-1 in LEC play to claim the second seed for the LEC Tournament.

Dale lifted the Panthers past Southern Maine in a back-and-forth semifinal win, then helped the team rally from a two-goal deficit with less than three minutes to play to beat WestConn in overtime for the program's ninth conference title. The Panthers fell to nationally-ranked Trinity in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The NCAA Tournament was nothing new for Dale, who won a pair of LEC Championships and made two trips to the NCAA Tournament as a player, then helped the Panthers advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in her first of two seasons as an assistant coach.

Plymouth State went 47-20 and made four consecutive LEC Tournament finals appearances during her four playing seasons (2014-17), winning conference titles her freshman and senior years. She returned to campus as an assistant coach for the 2019 season to help PSU to a third-straight LEC title, before earning the program's second NCAA Tournament victory the following week.

All told, the Panthers have played in the conference finals in each of her eight full seasons with the team as a player and coach, winning five championships, three regular season titles and appearing in six NCAA Tournaments.

Dale served as assistant coach at Skidmore College for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. Tasked with leading the defense, she instilled player-to-player, rover, backer and zone defensive concepts while mentoring two All-Liberty League honorees. Dale was also responsible for film review, IWLCA film exchange, scouting reports, and recruiting, where she committed a class of eight student-athletes.

She represented the Thoroughbreds in lacrosse clinics along the East coast, working with other top collegiate coaches to present drills and teaching points with a hands-on approach. During her two seasons, Skidmore boasted 15 All-Liberty League Academic Team honorees and three IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll selections.

Dale had previously patrolled the sidelines for the Panthers during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. PSU was a perfect 7-0 in the LEC (12-6 overall) in 2019, claiming the conference regular season and tournament titles while heading back to the NCAA Tournament for a third straight season. The Panthers set multiple school records in a 19-3 win over New England College in the first round, the program's second-ever NCAA Tournament win.

Plymouth State had been picked to repeat as conference champs in 2020, but the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic limited the team to just six games and the LEC canceled the season prior to the start of conference play.

A three-year starter at defense, Dale was recognized with an All-LEC First Team selection as a senior. The captain posted career totals of 83 ground balls, 33 draw controls and 34 caused turnovers.
