Trevor Hamilton was named the head men's and women's ski coach in August 2019 after a career spanning nearly two decades as the program director for both the Loon Race Team and Franconia Ski Club.

In his time atop the program, the Panthers have seen incredible success. Under his guidance, Plymouth State has had 11 individual skiers qualify for 16 National Collegiate Skiing Championships, including a full team of six racers – three men and three women – for the only time in program history in 2021.
Hamilton guided Max Haussmann ’25 to the national championships three straight years from 2023-25, including an All-America performance in the 2023 slalom. Hanna Larsson Nathhorst ’26 and Tindra Bergstrand ’26 also qualified in 2023, representing the women's team. Larsson Nathhorst narrowly missed All-America honors in both the slalom and giant slalom, finishing 11th in each discipline.

Haussmann’s seventh-place finish in the slalom was the highest-ever finish for a men’s skier at NCAAs. The 2023 season also saw Larsson Nathhorst claim three straight individual carnival wins, while Hamilton guided the women’s team to its first full carnival team victory at the Harvard Carnival GS. Larsson Nathhorst was named EISA Rookie of the Year and All-East First Team, while Haussmann was named All-East Second Team.

Hamilton led a pair of women to the national championships in 2022 as Mathilde Nelles ’22 and Franny MacDonald ’24 made the trip to Park City, Utah. Racing on the team's home mountain in 2021, he led Nelles and Hunter Watson ’22 to the first NCAA All-America finishes in program history. Nelles finished fifth in the women's giant slalom, while Watson placed ninth in the men's slalom. Plymouth State brought a full team of three men and three women to the championships for the first time in program history.

Hamilton made an immediate impression during his first season in 2020 when PSU sent a full team of three men's racers to nationals for the first time. Watson's 16th-place finish in the giant slalom was the program’s best at the time before the championships were halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hamilton served as program director of the Loon Race Team beginning in 2012, managing all aspects of the organization while also serving as head coach of the U10, U12, U14 and U16 programs. During his tenure, he increased program membership by more than 25%, coached two New Hampshire Alpine Racing Association (NHARA) slalom champions, and earned multiple team championships.

Prior to running the Loon Race Team, Hamilton spent 11 years at Franconia Ski Club. After five years of coaching, he was named program director while continuing to coach athletes from U12 local races through U18 National Championships. Under his direction, Franconia Ski Club hosted Eastern Cup FIS, NHARA and USSA Championship events. Hamilton also served as Eastern USSA staff for multiple regional events and was selected as course setter for GS as part of the 2006 Whistler Cup National Development System project.

Hamilton led multiple Franconia Ski Club athletes to the Whistler Cup, U.S. Nationals and the Tropheo Topolino ski games in Italy. He also coached two athletes to Junior Olympic podiums and JII Nationals appearances and claimed several team championships.

A USSA Level 300 certified coach, Hamilton also holds Level 3 certifications as a referee, chief of course and chief of race. He resides in Franconia, with his family, just minutes from Mittersill Ski Area, the home training facility for the Panthers.
