PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Sophomore Eliza
Badeau (East Providence, R.I.) smashed 14 kills Wednesday
evening, leading Plymouth State University to a 3-0 sweep (30-17,
30-26, 30-19) over Norwich University in non-conference women's
volleyball action at Foley Gymnasium.
The Panthers also got 11 kills from junior Wendy
Dziedzic (Nashua, N.H.) and nine kills and four service
aces from junior Regan Bowlen (Portsmouth,
N.H.) The Panthers maintained control of the match
throughout, and improved to 13-6 overall.
Also contributing to the Panther cause was junior Sarah
Spears (Meredith, N.H.), who had a team-high 15 digs and
three aces, and sophomore setter Brianna Kleckner
(Terryville, Conn.), who finished with 31 set assists.
Norwich, which has already won more matches than last year's 9-21
mark, is now 10-6 overall. The Cadets were led by freshman
Lisset Magdaleno (Whitier, Cal.), who made eight kills and 20
digs. Sophomore Ami Fuller (Pelham, N.H.) recorded six kills,
and freshman Keira Holmes (Los Angeles, Cal.) added 11 digs.
Plymouth State participates in the Smith College Tournament this
Friday and Saturday, and plays another home match next Wednesday
against Middlebury College (6:00 p.m.) Norwich returns home
to host a pair of Great Northeast Athletic Conference matches on
Saturday, facing Emerson College at 12 noon and Daniel Webster at 4
p.m.
