NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - Sophomore Eliza
Badeau (Foster, R.I.) smashed a season-high 21 kills
Friday night to lead Plymouth State University to a 3-1 victory
over Mount Holyoke College in the first match at the Smith College
Volleyball Invitational.
The Panthers took the first game, 30-18, but saw the Lyons come
back to take game two, 30-25. It was PSU from that point on,
as the Panthers closed out the match with 30-15 and 30-25 victories
in the next two games.
While Badeau was dominant, the Panthers also got 14 kills from
junior Regan Bowlen (Portsmouth, N.H.) and 10
kills from junior Wendy Dziedzic (Nashua, N.H.).
Senior Kirsten Willoughby (Plymouth, N.H.) chipped
in with eight kills, and sophomore Brianna
Kleckner (Terryville, Conn.) finished with 48 set assists.
The tournament continues on Saturday, and PSU's first match is
against Rivier College at 11:00 a.m.
