WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. - Sophomore Shannon
McNulty (Dover, N.H.) and freshman Britanne Michaud (Lewiston,
Maine) registered a goal and an assist each Saturday evening to
lead Norwich University to a 4-0 victory over Plymouth State
University in ECAC Women's East Ice Hockey action at Waterville
Valley Ice Arena.
The outcome spoiled an outstanding performance by PSU junior
goaltender goalie Lindsay DeLorie (Holliston,
Mass.), who finished with a career-high 76 saves. She made 22
stops in the opening period and 27 in each of the last two
frames. The 76 saves ties for the fifth most number saves in
a game in NCAA Division III women's ice hockey history.
After a scoreless first period, sophomore Annie DiVito (Arlington,
Mass.) put the Cadets on the board three minutes into the second
period. McNulty made it a 2-0 game at the 14:02 mark, and
freshman Kelly Cone (Manchester, Vt.) added a power play goal less
than three minutes later to give Norwich a 3-0 lead heading into
the third period. Michaud added a goal in the first minute of the
third period to round out the scoring.
Freshman Cindy Fortin (Quebec City, Que.) earned the shutout in the
Norwich goal, saving all eight shots she faced.
