WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. - Senior Deni
Bojadzic (Gothenburg, Sweden) scored four goals and
assisted on two others Wednesday night, leading Plymouth State
University to a 9-1 victory over Framingham State College in an
ECAC Northeast Conference men's ice hockey game at Waterville
Valley Arena.
Bojadzic scored
a pair of even-strength goals in the first period to help the
Panthers to a 4-0 lead, and added a pair of unassisted short-handed
goals in the third period. Bojadzic now leads the team in
scoring with 10 goals and eight assists.
Freshman
Sean Buckley (Sagamore, Mass.) contributed to the
Panther offense with a pair of goals, his second and third of the
season. Sophomore Drew Erickson (Topsham,
Maine) picked up his first career goal, and senior Topo
LaCroix (Moretown, Vt.) and freshman Bryan
Horrigan (Brookfield, Wis.) also scored once each for the
winners.
PSU led 4-0
after one period and made it 5-0 in the first minute of the second
period. Framingham State got on the board midway through the
middle from on a goal by sophomore Jason Akstin (Bridgewater,
Mass.) but it was all Panthers the rest of the way.
Senior goalie
Karl Helgesson (Lerum, Sweden) made 27 saves to
earn the win in the Panther net. Sophomore Pete Dundovich
(Philadelphia, Pa.) made 12 saves in the first period for the Rams,
and classmate Andy Joyce (Milford, Mass.) stopped 17 shots over the
final two periods.
PSU, which has
won its last three games to improve to 7-8-2 overall and 4-3-1 in
the ECAC Northeast, is home again on Saturday for a conference game
against Wentworth (6:00 p.m.) Framingham State, which dropped
its eighth in a row to fall to 1-17-0 and 0-6-0 in the league,
tries to stop its skid Saturday at home against Worcester State
(5:40 p.m.)
