DANBURY, Conn. - Senior George Delano (Kingston, N.H.) knotted the game with his first goal of the season less than two minutes into the second half Saturday afternoon, and Plymouth State University went on to a 1-1 draw against Western Connecticut State University in a Little East Conference men's soccer game at the Westside Athletic Complex.

The outcome leaves PSU with a 4-7-1 overall record and a 1-2-1 LEC mark, while WestConn is now 6-6-2 and 0-2-2.

Senior Patrick Odell (Litchfield, Conn.) gave the Colonials a 1-0 lead late in the first half with his first goal of the season, with an assist from Daniel DaSilva (Danbury, Conn.)

WestConn's leading scorer, Daniel Sanchez (Caanan, Conn.), had three strong scoring chances in the second period of regulation play, but each time was denied by Plymouth State goalkeeper Tyler Shute (Deerfield, N.H.) and the score remained 1-1 after 90 minutes of play.

The only shot on goal in overtime was taken by Plymouth State's Semir Mehmedovic (Concord, N.H.) with three minutes remaining, but WestConn goalkeeper Dan Michalowski (Bristol, Conn.) deflected the ball over the crossbar to preserve the 1-1 tie.

Michalowski finished with seven saves for the Colonials, while Shute had nine saves in goal for Plymouth State.

PSU returns home to host defending national champion Middlebury College Tuesday at Panther Field (4:30 p.m.).  WestConn's next game will be Wednesday afternoon at Wesleyan (4:30 p.m.)
