SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Plymouth
State University women's volleyball team sandwiched a win over
Western New England College between losses to Roger Williams
University and Springfield College Saturday at the Tom Hay
Invitational, hosted by Springfield.
Roger Williams took the first match over PSU in four games, 25-15,
29-31, 25-20, 25-10. The Panthers rebounded with a
straight-set win over WNEC (25-22, 25-15, 25-20), but fell in the
final match to Springfield in straight sets, 25-18, 26-24, 25-21.
Junior Eliza Badeau (Foster, R.I.) was PSU's
representative on the All-Tournament Team. She reached double
figures in kills in all four matches on the weekend, totaling 60
kills with just three attack errors. She also had eight
blocks in the tournament.
Junior Carly Newton (Centerville, Mass.) also had
a strong tournament for the Panthers, finishing with 46 kills,
while freshman Meghan Sullivan (Marlton, N.J.)
chipped in with 27 kills.
PSU, 13-8 overall, returns to action Wednesday with a match at
Norwich (6:00 p.m.)
