NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Junior Eliza
Badeau (Foster, R.I.) recorded 17 kills, including career
kill number 1,000, Wednesday evening as Plymouth State University
defeated Norwich University, 3-0, in non-conference women's
volleyball action at Andrews Hall.
The Panthers won by scores of 25-18, 25-23 and 25-15, improving to
14-8 overall, while Norwich dropped to 13-4.
Badeau (right) made her 17 kills without an error in 32 attack
attempts, while adding five blocks for the Panthers. She
becomes the fifth player in the program's 13-year history to go
over the 1,000 kills mark. She now has 1,013 kills in her career.
Junior Carly Newton (Centerville, Mass.) and
freshman Meghan Sullivan (Marlton, N.J.) added
eight kills apiece for PSU. Sullivan added a team-high 12 digs to
her performance. Sophomore Sarah Cady
(Holliston, Mass.) served as setter for two of the three sets and
made 21 assists and 11 digs.
Norwich was led by junior Lisset Magdaleno, who smacked down a
team-best eight kills to go along with 13 digs and three blocks.
Sophomore Molly Rice recorded a double-double with a team-high 18
assists and a team-best 14 digs.
Plymouth State will play in the Little East Conference-New England
Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Challenge this
Saturday at Keene State; the Panthers will face Smith College at 12
noon and Mount Holyoke College at 2:30 p.m.
