WATERVILLE, Maine - The Plymouth
State University women's volleyball team won a pair of matches on
Saturday and captured the Colby College Invitational Tournament.
PSU posted 3-0 victories over Colby and Husson College to earn the
title.
PSU, which needed five sets to upend Gordon College on Friday
night, starts the season with a 3-0 record. The scores in the
triumph over Colby were 26-24, 25-12, and 25-22, and the scores in
the win over Husson were 25-19, 25-14, and 25-10.
Plymouth State junior middle hitter Eliza Badeau
(Foster, R.I.) was named the Tournament Most Valuable Player.
The Panthers return home to host their own annual tourney, the
Days Inn of Campton Tournament, next Friday and Saturday
at Foley Gymnasium.
