MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Freshman Alison
Ulseth (Orono, Minn.) scored a goal and added an assist
Saturday afternoon, leading Augsburg College in its third straight
women's ice hockey victory, a 5-3 non-conference decision over
visiting Plymouth State University (N.H.) at the Augsburg Ice
Arena.
Eight different Augsburg (3-10-0 overall) players figured in the
scoring, and the Auggies outshot Plymouth State (0-9-0) by a 60-19
margin.
Three of Augsburg's goals came on special teams -- a power-play
goal by Ulseth in the first period and shorthanded goals by
freshman Kali Holst (Mound, Minn.) and senior
Tiffany Magnuson (Green Bay, Wis.). Holst scored
her fifth goal in the last three games, and team-high ninth of the
season, while Magnuson claimed her first goal of the year and the
57th of her Auggie career.
Sophomores Jenna Knudtson (Austin, Minn.) and
Brya Erickson (New Brighton, Minn.) also scored
goals for the Auggies, and junior Sara Toft
(Alexandria, Minn.) had two assists.
Sophomore Elizabeth Murray (Woburn, Mass.), junior
Amanda Arponen (Plymouth, Mass.) and freshman
Jaimie Camara (Portsmouth, R.I.) had a goal and
assist apiece for Plymouth State, with freshman Tina
Worley (Anchorage, Alaska) and senior Amanda
Kreamer (Lynn, Mass.) adding assists.
Augsburg goalie Grace Edgar (Plano, Texas) stopped
16 shots to claim her first collegiate victory. Senior
Lindsay DeLorie (Holliston, Mass.) made 55 saves
for the Panthers in a losing effort.
Augsburg returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
play next Friday and Saturday (1/16-17) with a series against St.
Benedict. Plymouth State finishes its three-game trip to Minnesota
on Monday (1/12) at 3 p.m. with a game at Bethel.
