WALTHAM, Mass. - Bentley College captured 11 of the 15
events Sunday afternoon en route to a 141-127 victory over Plymouth
State University in a women's swimming and diving meet, the return
to competition for both teams after the holiday break.
Sophomore Anne Kaduboski (Dedham, Mass.) led the winners with three
individual victories, taking the 50-yard freestyle in 26.68
seconds, the 100-yard backstroke in 1:03.71, and the 400-yard
individual medley in 4:48.04. She also swam the backstroke leg on
Bentley's winning 400-yard medley relay team.
The Falcons had three others who were double-winners in the
meet. Freshman Susie Boretti (Westford, Mass.) captured the
200-yard free (2:07.65) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.23); senior
Lynne Tutunjian (Shrewsbury, Mass.) touched first in the 50- and
100-yard butterfly (29.57 and 1:05.71, respectively); and sophomore
Emily Travers (Brentwood, N.H.) scored highest in the one-meter and
three-meter diving events (201.25 and 222.75 points, respectively).
PSU's top performer was freshman Nicole Brodeur
(Claremont, N.H./Vermont Academy), who resumed her outstanding
rookie season. She placed first in the 100-yard free in 59.49
seconds, and finished second in the 50-yard fly (30.47) and
200-yard free (2:08.83). Brodeur also teamed with junior
Elise Innis (Harpswell, Maine), senior
Kaitlyn Milligan (Forestdale, Mass.) and freshman
Brittney Gondek (South Glastonbury, Conn.) to give
PSU a win in the 200-yard free relay.
Two other Panthers were individual winners, junior Tracey
Posnick (Sharon, Mass.) in the grueling 1,650-yard
freestyle (20 minutes, 25.40 seconds) and classmate Chaz
Sweeney (Methuen, Mass.) in the 50-yard backstroke
(31.41).
PSU, 1-3, will host the annual alumni meet next Saturday at the PSU
Natatorium and will resume official competition on Wednesday, Jan.
14, with a dual meet at rival Keene State (5:00 p.m.) Bentley, 2-3,
visits Saint Michael's next Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. meet.
