WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. - Seniors Sarah Tracey (Aurora,
Ont.) and Jessica Donnelly (Casa Grande, Ariz.) combined for five
goals and four assists Friday evening as New England College
defeated Plymouth State University, 7-1, in an ECAC Women's East
Conference ice hockey game at Waterville Valley Arena.
Tracey notched
three goals and an assist, and Donnelly tallied two goals and three
assists to lead the Pilgrims. Sophomore Rachel White
(Arlington, Mass.) added a goal and two assists as NEC improved to
10-8-2 overall and 8-5-2 in the ECAC. Freshman Chelsea Torrico (Mt.
Washington, Mass.) also scored for NEC.
Freshman
Molly Blaine (Concord, N.H.) scored her first
career goal for PSU, which gave the Panthers a 1-0 first-period
lead, but it was all Pilgrims the rest of the way. NEC led
2-1 after one period and 6-1 after two before coasting home with
the win.
The visitors
finished with a 46-17 advantage in shots on goal. PSU senior
Lindsay DeLorie (Holliston, Mass.) made 39 saves
for PSU, while freshman Teraysa White (Belgrade, Maine) and junior
Alexandra DiRico (Limerick, Pa.) combined to make 16 saves for NEC.
Both teams play
ECAC East games again on Saturday, NEC visiting Southern Maine at
1:00 p.m. and PSU hosting Saint Anselm College at 2:00 p.m.
