Box Score Smith wins twice for Panthers, remains unbeaten in
singles
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Junior Lydia
Smith (Marblehead, Mass.) won matches in both singles and
doubles Wednesday afternoon to lead the Plymouth State University
women's tennis team to a 7-2 victory over Lyndon State
College in a non-conference match at the P.E. Center's indoor
courts.
Plymouth State won its second match in a row to improve to 5-3 on
the season, while Lyndon State dropped to 4-5. The match was
originally scheduled to be played at Lyndon State but was moved to

season with a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles. She also paired
up with sophomore Rachel Figura (Cheshire, Conn.)
for an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles as the Panther duo improved to
5-3 on the season. PSU also collected singles wins from
junior Laura Donovan (Acton, Mass.) at No. 1,
freshman Molly Heartfield (Dorset, Vt.) at No. 4,
and freshman Jane Duggan
(Saunderstown, R.I.) at No. 5.
The Hornets were led by senior Jenn Falsetti (Albany, N.Y.), who
won her No. 2 singles match in straight sets. Sophomore Maria
Parr (Montpelier, Vt.) and freshman Kayla Flynn (Johnston, R.I.)
also picked up a win for Lyndon State at No. 2 doubles.
