Davis scores lone goal for Panthers
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Kailyn Murray (Medicine Hat, Alb.)
scored two goals Friday night to lead Buffalo State to a 5-1
victory over visiting Plymouth State University in a non-conference
women's ice hockey game at the Ice Arena.
Bri Murphy (Depew, N.Y.), Alanna McMullen (Calgary, Alb.) and
Marissa McMullan (Haileybury, Ont.) also scored for the Bengals,
and Andrea Wing (Lakefield, t.) had two assists.
Buffalo State scored three goals in the first period and never
looked back, adding one goal in both the second and third stanzas
to secure the win. Junior Bri Davis
(Framingham, Mass.) scored the Panthers lone goal just 27 seconds
into the second period, assisted by Rebecca Fogg
(White River Jct., Vt.).
The Bengals owned a 32-17 advantage in shots and went 1-for-2 on
the power play. Alyssa Koniar (New Berlin, Wis.) had 16 saves
in the win for Buffalo State, which extends its winning streak to
three games, while Ali Ponte (Richmond Hill, Ont.)
stopped 27 shots for Plymouth State.
The two teams will play again Saturday at 2 p.m.
