Panthers suffer first Little East loss of season

            PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Sophomore Komla Dogbey (Providence, R.I.) scored in the 35th minute Saturday afternoon to lead Rhode Island College to a 1-0 win over Plymouth State University in a key Little East Conference men's soccer match at Arold Field.

            Senior forward Jose Zarraga (Providence, R.I.) set up Dogbey for his team-leading 11th marker of the year in the 35th minute, while junior goalkeeper Chris Moura (Rumford, R.I.) made five saves to earn his third shutout of the year.

            RIC improves to 8-4 overall and moves into a tied for second place in the LEC with a 4-1 mark. PSU had its five-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 7-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play.

            PSU junior goalkeeper Felix Lindeberg (Stockholm, Sweden) made eight saves in a losing effort.

            Plymouth State plays its last four regular season games on the road, beginning Wednesday at Middlebury College (3:00 p.m.) Rhode Island College will play at Westfield State on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
