Lynch scores twice for Panthers; Lindqvist makes 22 saves in shutout

SALEM, Mass. – Senior Kelsey Lynch (Collegeville, Pa.) scored a pair of goals Saturday evening to lead the Plymouth State Panthers to a 4-0 non-conference victory over the Salem state Vikings at Rockett Arena.

Plymouth State has now won two in a row while the Vikings' skid has reached four games. The Panthers improve to 3-6 while Salem State, a first-year varsity program, slips to 3-7.

After playing a scoreless second period, the Panthers took advantage of a man opportunity that carried over to the beginning of the third, allowing Lynch to push the lead to 2-0 with another assist coming from the stick of Evans. The Panthers added two more scores to ice the game as Frédérike Brazeau-Lalonde (Thetford Mines, Que.) added her fist goal of the year on a power play and Kelsey Roy (Ft. Collins, Colo/O) capping the scoring with a shorthanded goal at the 17:38 mark.

Freshman Emelie Lindqvist (Gullerasen, Sweden) earned her first shutout of the season for the Panthers and improves to 4-3 on the season after making 22 saves. Jenn Toussaint (Reading, Mass.) took the loss despite making 37 saves.
