Box Score Panthers host Little East Tournament match on Tuesday
HOLDERNESS, N.H. – The Plymouth State University women's tennis team wrapped up the regular season Saturday afternoon with an 8-1 loss to Rhode Island College in a Little East Conference match at the Holderness School Courts.
The Anchorwomen won their fourth straight match to improve to 12-1 overall and 7-1 in LEC matches, claiming their second straight Little East Conference regular season title. PSU finishes the regular season at 7-6 overall and 5-3 in conference play.
RIC will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming LEC Tournament, and receives a first-round bye on Tuesday. PSU will be the No. 4 seed, and will host No. 5 seed Worcester State University on Tuesday at the Holderness School Courts. PSU defeated Worcester State earlier this season, 7-2.

RIC HIGHLIGHTS
* Junior Dayna Reilly (Swansea, Mass.) and senior Julie Reddy (Smithfield, R.I.) combined for three wins to lead the visitors, teaming up for a victory at No. 1 doubles and following that with straight-set wins at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively. Reilly finished a perfect 8-0 at No. 1 against LEC opponents this season.
* Junior Laura Nastasi (Smithville, N.J.) and senior Jorgie Martin (Greenville, R.I.) were also double-winners for RIC, combing to win at No. 3 doubles and the taking the No. 3 and No. 5 singles matches, respectively.
* Sophomore Katherine Braganca (Pawtucket, R.I.) coasted to a win at No. 3 singles, and paired up with junior Isabella Romeo (Greenville, R.I.) for a triumph at No. 2 doubles.
PSU HIGHLIGHTS
* Junior Megan Wheeler (Manchester, N.H./Central) captured PSU's only victory, a three-set decision (6-4, 1-6, 1-0/10-5) at No. 6 singles.
* Freshman Alex Dunn (Jaffrey, N.H.) forced a tiebreaker in her second set at No. 5 singles, but lost the match, 6-2, 7-6. Dunn shares the team lead in victories with a 7-4 singles record.
* Senior captain Rachel Gustafson (Belchertown, Mass.), who was recognized on Senior Day, completed the regular season with a 7-6 singles record, matching Dunn for the most wins on the team.
