Box Score Panthers don't drop a set in convincing non-conference win
LYNDONVILLE, Vt. – The Plymouth State University women's tennis team flexed its muscle in a non-conference match at Northern Vermont University – Lyndon on Thursday afternoon, earning a 9-0 shutout at the Dudley Bell Tennis Center.
The Panthers rolled, winning all nine points without dropping a single set on the afternoon. With the victory PSU improves to 4-2 on the year, while the Hornets drop to 1-6.

How it Happened:
* Plymouth swept the doubles action for the second time this season in dominating fashion. Sophomore Sage Winter (New Castle, N.H.) and classmate Maggie McCarthy (Marion, Mass.) rolled to an 8-0 win at No. 1, while sophomore Jenna Sundquist (Monument Beach, Mass.) and senior Megan Wheeler (Manchester, N.H.) teamed up to blank their competition, 8-0, at No. 2.
* Sophomore Kerstin Venincasa (Sutton, Mass.) and classmate Emily Hill (New Hartford, Conn.) completed the sweep with an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
* The Panthers continued their dominance in singles play. McCarthy earned a straight sets (6-0, 6-0) win at No. 1, with senior Irene Kigugu (Concord, N.H.) replicating the effort at No. 2.
* Sundquist also played a clean match, sailing to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3.
* Freshmen Brie Hada (Alton, N.H.), Julie Miller (Woburn, Mass.) and Lexi Smith (Rindge, N.H.) completed the sweep with 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
Inside the Numbers:
* Hada, Miller and Smith each picked up their first career singles victories.
* Winter and McCarthy improved to 5-1 in pairs play.
* Plymouth State has dominated the all-time series with the Hornets, improving to 17-0 in head-to-head action.
* The Panthers have won each of the last six meetings by a 9-0 score.
