FH: Lanowy scores but New England College too much for Panthers

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Freshman Jordan Lanowy (Newport, R.I.) scored her first career goal, but New England College proved to be too much as the Pilgrims walked away with the 6-1 win over Plymouth State University in a non-conference matchup on Panther Field Tuesday evening.

The Panthers' offense started the game ready to pounce but couldn't break through the Pilgrims' defense. The hosts carried most of the play until the second quarter when the field seemed to tilt in New England College's favor. The visitors scored three times in the final nine minutes of the second quarter to take a commanding 3-0 lead into halftime.

NEC started the second half where it left off and extended their lead to 4-0 just three minutes in. The Panthers' offense gained a chance off a penalty corner when sophomore Taylor Healey (Campton, N.H.) found Lanowy alone in front and she buried her first collegiate goal.

The Pilgrims added two more for the 6-1 win.
