NEW LONDON, N.H. – Plymouth State University wasted little time recovering from its first loss of the season, cruising past Colby-Sawyer College, 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-13), in a non-conference women's volleyball match at Hogan Sports Center on Thursday night.
Using a balanced attack Plymouth State held the Chargers to negative attack percentages in the first and third sets on the way to the sweep. Junior
Emilee Flanagan (Milton, N.H.) and sophomore
Nora Ryan (Groton, Conn.) each registered seven kills and just one error, with freshman
Lilli Stogner (Weare, N.H.) adding six kills.
Plymouth State improves to 20-1, reaching the 20-win plateau for the 16th time in the program's history, while Colby-Sawyer drops to 9-15.

How it Happened:
- Junior Natalie Gravelle (Portsmouth, N.H.) notched a kill to snap an 8-8 tie and a pair of Chargers' errors and senior Katie Townsend's (Layton, Utah) put the Panthers ahead, 12-8. The teams traded points until Ryan went on a lengthy service run to push the margin to 20-10 and moments later Gravelle's third kill of the set wrapped up the 25-18 win.
- The Panthers led 15-13 midway through set two before senior Maria Wimpey (Concord, N.H.) served three-straight points as the advantage stretched to 19-13. The Chargers rallied and cut the deficit to just a single point, 23-22, but Ryan's kill gave PSU set-point and freshman Lindsey Sanderson (Gilford, N.H.) served an ace for the 25-22 win.
- Plymouth State jumped out to a 5-1 lead in set three and never looked back. Sophomore Ryley McNeeley (South Easton, Mass.) pounded a kill to spark a 6-0 run as the lead surged to 11-4 and shortly later the Panthers put the set out of reach with an eight-point run for a 21-8 advantage. A Flanagan kill and Ryan solo block sealed the 25-13 win.
