PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Junior
Mike Donnelly (New Hampton, N.H.) scored three goals, but Western Connecticut State University led from wire-to-wire in a 21-10 win over Plymouth State University in Little East Conference (LEC) men's lacrosse action at Panther Field on Thursday.
The Colonials jumped out to a four-goal lead and, despite multi-goal games from Donnelly, junior

Nolan Burke (Dudley, Mass.), Plymouth State was unable to slow the WestConn offense.
Plymouth State falls to 2-4 (1-3 LEC), while WestConn goes to 4-2 (4-2 LEC).

How it Happened:
- WestConn scored four times in the first nine minutes before Roy put the Panthers on the board with 5:34 left in the opening quarter.
- The teams traded tallies, with Donnelly scoring off a feed from Drew with just under three minutes to go.
- The Colonials closed the frame with back-to-back scores, then ran off four in a row to open the second quarter and push the lead to 11-2.
- Drew and Burke each found the back of the cage for the Panthers, but WCSU answered with a pair of goals of its own before Drew's second of the afternoon made it 13-5 at the half.
- WestConn outscored the Panthers 5-2 in the third, with PSU's goals coming from junior Mark Iamele (Georgetown, Mass.) and Roy.
- Burke tallied his second of the night and Donnelly added a pair of scores in the fourth quarter to account for the final score.
By the Numbers:
- WestConn held a narrow 40-36 edge in shots but led the ground ball battle by a 38-26 margin.
- PSU went 22-of-28 in clear attempts, while the Colonials were successful on 16-of-17 attempts.
- Plymouth State was unable to capitalize on any of eight man-up chances.
- Senior Robert Porter (Groveland, Mass.) totaled six saves over the first 37:13 before giving way to freshmen Owen McNichols (Manchester, N.H.) and Jessy Hirwa (Penacook, N.H.).
