JOHNSON, Vt. – For the third straight match the Plymouth State University women's tennis team didn't surrender a point as the Panthers rolled past Northern Vermont University-Johnson, 9-0, in non-conference action at the Johnson Tennis Courts on Thursday afternoon.
The Panthers got solid play throughout the lineup to control the match and extend their winning streak to four straight contests. PSU jumped out to a 3-0 lead in doubles play and didn't drop a set during singles action to extend a strong start to the season.
Plymouth State remains unbeaten against NCAA Division III opponents to improve to 6-1, while the Badgers fall to 2-2.

How it Happened:
- Juniors Kira Winter (Eliot, Maine) and Megan Marshall (Dartmouth, Mass.) were unchallenged at No. 1 doubles, cruising to an 8-0 win.
- The freshmen tandem of Tessa LaBarre (North Smithfield, R.I.) and Elena Cardoso (Hudson, Mass.) toppled their opponents at No. 3 doubles by an 8-2 margin.
- Senior Julie Miller (Woburn, Mass.) and sophomore Camilla Puzio (Holden, Mass.) faced the biggest challenge at No. 2 pairs, but the duo was still able to control the match in an 8-3 victory.
- Winter coasted to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles, while Marshall dispatched of her counterpart by a 6-0, 6-2 margin at No. 2.
- Sophomore Sarah Asciutto (Manchester, Vt.) earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 3, while LaBarre remained unbeaten against D-III competition with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 4.
- Freshman Amelia Brown (Meredith, N.H.) posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory at her No. 5 spot, while junior Alyssa Bettencourt (West Brookfield, Mass.) didn't drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6.
By the Numbers:
- LaBarre continued her impressive start to her career, moving to 6-1 in singles action and 4-1 in pairs. Both losses came at the hands of D-II St. Anselm.
- Plymouth State's depth has been remarkable in the early going. The Panthers are a combined 22-5 at No. 3 – No. 6 singles thus far.
- PSU has won all six meetings between the two teams by the same 9-0 score.

- The Panthers return to Little East Conference (LEC) action on Saturday (Sept. 25) when they square off against the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in a match played at Somerset Berkley Regional High School with first serve set for 1:00 p.m.
