Natalie Perry (Conway, N.H.) each notched goals and sophomore goalkeeper
Kayla Antonucci (Windham, N.H.) recorded 10 saves, but the Panthers fell 3-2 in double overtime to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in a Little East Conference (LEC) field hockey matchup on Cressy Field on Saturday.
Plymouth State looked to have things in control early when Healey found the back of the cage at the 4:05 mark of the first quarter. UMass Dartmouth wasted no time to even the score and the Corsairs took the lead two minutes into the second quarter.
Perry converted a feed from sophomore
Athena Comeau (Rutland, Mass.) to tie the game in the third quarter and Plymouth State pressured during the two overtimes but was unable to break through. UMD was able to score midway through the second overtime period to earn the win.
Plymouth State drops to 4-2 (2-1 LEC), while UMass Dartmouth improves to 3-6 (2-1 LEC).

How it Happened:
- The Panther offense was hungry, and Healey capitalized off an assist from sophomore Holly Temple (Topsham, Maine) to give Plymouth an early 1-0 lead.
- Less than five minutes later the Corsairs evened the score when freshman Jenna Carvalho (Westport, Mass.) found the back of the net.
- UMass Dartmouth rode that momentum into the second quarter when graduate student Hannah Steen (Fall River, Mass.) scored off a penalty corner to take the lead.
- Plymouth evened the score when Perry notched her first goal of the season nearly halfway through the third quarter.
- The score remained 2-2 through the end of regulation.
- The Panthers' offense came out firing in overtime, firing five shots between the two extra frames, but couldn't solve the UMass Dartmouth goalkeeper.
- Sophomore Maggie Doherty (Braintree, Mass.) got loose in the Panthers' end in double overtime and she found graduate student Brittany Perry (Dighton, Mass.) for the game winning goal.
By the Numbers:
- UMass Dartmouth held slight advantages in shots on goal (13-8) and penalty corners (14-12).
- Antonucci faced 23 shots and recorded 10 saves, one shy of her career high.
- UMass Dartmouth freshman goalie Alyssa McDonough (Hill, N.H.) made five of her six saves in the overtime sessions to pick up the win.
- The loss snaps a four-game win streak for the PSU.
