Jordan Meier (Holderness, N.H.) scored for the second straight game and classmate
Cat Robbins (Franklin, Mass.) made a career-high nine saves as Plymouth State University battled to a 1-1, double-overtime draw against the University of Massachusetts Boston in a Little East Conference (LEC) women's soccer game at James Cotter Field on Saturday night.
The Beacons got a first half goal in the 29th minute, but Meier's blast in the 63rd minute drew the Panthers even and neither team was able to get one past the opposing keeper the rest of the way.
PSU moves to 4-1-1 and 1-0-1 in the LEC, while the Beacons finish the day with a 5-2-2 mark (1-0-1 LEC).

How it Happened:
- The Beacons had the first scoring chance in the fifth minute when a beautiful ball through traffic lead to a shot at the top of the 18, but Robbins made a diving stop.
- Sophomore Ashley Plante (Concord, N.H.) caused a turnover in the Beacons' defensive zone and carried the ball along the right side in the 24th minute, but her cross was broken up by a UMB defender.
- The hosts took the lead in the 29th minute when freshman Maggie Kelley (Paxton, Mass.) launched a shot from the corner of the box that ricocheted off Robbins' outstretched hands and trickled into the net.
- Meier scored the equalizer in the 63rd minute with a brilliant shot from the top of the left corner of the box. Her half-volley off an attempted clear by the Beacons floated over the goalkeeper and into the top right corner to square the game at 1-1.
- Both teams had opportunities to end the game in regulation, but neither side was able to convert.
- Sophomore Tess LeDuc (Marlborough, Mass.) slipped a pass to Plante with just under eight minutes left in the second overtime, but the Beacons' keeper was able to corral her shot at the near post and the teams would settle for a draw.
By the Numbers:
- The Beacons held a 27-9 advantage in shots, but Robbins' strong play in goal made up for the gap.
- Robbins' nine saves were a career best. She improved to 2-1-1 on the season.
- Both teams earned five corners.
- UMass Boston was whistled for seven offsides.
