WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – Junior
Taylor Healey (Campton, N.H.) scored twice and added an assist to push Plymouth State University to a 3-1 win over Eastern Connecticut State University in Little East Conference (LEC) field hockey action at Rick McCarthy Field on Saturday.
The hosts got on the board first with a goal near the end of the first quarter. The Panthers answered back in the second quarter with two goals in just over a minute. Healey tied the game with her 14th of the season, then assisted on classmate
Athena Comeau's (Rutland, Mass.) fifth of the year to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.
Healey notched her 15th goal of the year in the third quarter to pad the Panthers' lead, and junior
Piper Sherbert (Freeport, Maine) and the PSU defense slammed the door the rest of the way.
Plymouth State goes to 6-3 (4-1 LEC), while the Warriors end the day with a 3-6 mark (1-4 LEC).

- Healey had a game-high five shots and added two goals and an assist to her season totals.
- She now leads the team with 15 goals, six assists and 36 points and has scored in all but one game this year.
- Sherbert made four saves to earn her fourth win of the season.
