PAXTON, Mass. – Junior
Carson Lanceleve (Stewiacke, Nova Scotia) scored in his third straight game, but Anna Maria rallied with a pair of late power play goals to top Plymouth State University, 4-3, in non-conference men's ice hockey action at Horgan Arena on Saturday evening.
Plymouth State held three separate one-goal leads, but the AMCATS came back each time. With the Panthers holding a 3-2 advantage midway through the third, Anna Maria cashed in on a two-man advantage to tie the score, then went ahead on the same power play just over a minute later and the Panthers were unable to rally.
Plymouth State slips to 1-2-1, while the AMCATS are now 2-2-0.

How it Happened:
- Senior Jacob Laurin (Stockholm, Sweden) opened the scoring for the Panthers midway through the first period after converting a feed from senior Niks Krollis (Riga, Latvia) at the 9:37 mark.
- The AMCATS came back to tie the game late in the frame with just 2:29 left in the opening stanza.
- Lanceleve lit the lamp only 45 seconds in the middle frame, his third goal in as many games and the lead held into the second intermission.
- Anna Maria converted a power play chance at 6:08 of the third period to pull even again, but junior Matt Tartaglio (Houston, Texas) beat the home goaltender to restore the advantage, 3-2, just over two minutes later.
- The hosts rallied again with a power play strike, this time finding the back of the net during a 5-on-3, then again 1:04 later, to leapfrog ahead, 4-3.
- Plymouth State had a pair of power play chances late in the frame, but the AMCATS defense held strong to preserve the lead.
By the Numbers:
- Lanceleve has goals in each of the last three games and at least one point in all four games this season.
- Krollis moves into a tie for the team lead in assists with three.
- Sophomore Anton Jellvik (Taby, Sweden) and graduate student Ben Chipman (North Vancouver, British Columbia) also had assists for the Panthers.
- Freshman Brandon Shantz (San Antonio, Texas) made 28 saves in his collegiate debut.
- Plymouth State had won five straight against the AMCATS.
