CASTLETON, Vt. – Freshman
Yansel Reyes (Manchester, N.H.) scored 16 points in the first eight minutes of play to spark the Plymouth State University men's basketball team to an 88-51 win over Castleton University in Little East Conference (LEC) action on Monday night in Glenbrook Gymnasium.
Reyes drained four triples as part of a 23-7 stretch to open the game and the Panthers went on to play strong team basketball on the way to the convincing win.
Reyes ended the contest with a game-high 18 points while sophomore
Kyler Bosse (Manchester, N.H.) added 12 points of his own. Seniors
Manny Alisandro (Manchester, N.H.) and
Devin Cooper (Newfield, N.Y.) each came close to double-doubles in the winning effort.
The Panthers have won four straight and five-of-six while moving to 12-9 and 7-5 in the LEC. Castleton falls to 5-16 and 0-12 in the LEC.

- The Panthers opened with a 13-2 run to take control in the opening 5:44.
- Plymouth State increased its lead to 17 points, 31-14, with 8:29 on the clock in the opening half.
- The Spartans used an 8-1 run to cut the deficit to ten, 32-22, at the 6:25 mark.
- PSU brought the advantage back to 17 points, 43-26, heading into halftime.
- Castleton would get no closer than 16 points as the Panthers comfortably closed out the game.
